Review: Converse Sicks
Debuting at the 2010 World Basketball festival, The Sicks is Converse's 2010-11 entry to the performance line of basketball sneakers after the Weapon Evo last 2009-10 season. The past season, Cons ballers alternated between this and the other performance shoe, the Converse Star player evo.
Fast forward 2011, The Converse Sicks is finally released in the Philippines in a new colorway. I'm not sure if this is a country exclusive colorway though.
Colors
The Philippine released Converse Sicks comes in a Millennium inspired colorway of Volt, Charcoal, Reflective silver and gray. It honestly looks like a Lebron 8 sneaker modified to Converse's specs (they are under the same company anyway). I would've preferred if the laces were volt colors though to give it a stronger accent.
Look
Since Cons got back to the star chevron logo, most of its designs play into the "retro but modern" look and the sicks is no exception. The construction and feel looks retro but the colorway and balls technology gives it a modern twist.
Fit
The Shoes feel snugly with tons of ankle support.
Performance
The full length balls technology on the ankles work. Less heat, no blisters and more firm/ padded protection. Though the snugly fit causes a bit of strain on the first few minutes of wearing it, It immediately disappears come game time. The shoes are also lightweight despite ite "Armored" built.
The Shoes are out at major department stores @ P5,495.
