Vote for the new 7 wonders

I remember back in my grade school days our social studies teacher always claim about some of the Philippines' tourist destinations being included in the 7 wonders of the world (sometimes they even made it 8). But years after I realized that none of them even made it to the 7 wonders. Yup, some teachers seem to exaggerate on what they are teaching, but this time around, we can turn it to a reality.

VOTE for the 3 Philippine entries to the New 7 Wonders of the World:

Rankings as of May 24 (Saturday):

TUBBATAHA REEF (Rank #6)

CHOCOLATE HILLS (Rank #8)

ST. PAUL UNDERGROUND RIVER (Rank # 10)

MAYON VOLCANO (Rank #24)

We need to be in Top 21 by January 2009 to make it in the final cut (final selection).
Team, let's make our country proud!

Just wondering what the heck will happen to the old 7 wonders?

The Captain

Photobucket

The Last match was one for the books. PP and Lebron Going out against each other in a decisive game 7. Yes, It brought out likenesses of the classic matchup between Larry Bird and Dominique Wilkins 20 years ago.

From Squeezing through the double team, to that late game hustle off the jump ball and that miraculous free throw shot care of the late Red Auerbach. The captain is back and has finally had the breakout game that could probably gain him the respect from the NBA that was lacking for a long time now.

Yes, they are not performing as they should be, but its nice that they're finally getting their act done at the right time. Especially in situations that matter the most.

Now, Bring it on Detroit.

Defense!!!

Defense (De.Fense)

1. the resistance against attack,

2. the practice or art of defending oneself or one's goal against attack

If there's one thing to really love about Basketball or sports in general, its the Defense. Defense can do wonders for a team, make them curl up against big odds but the best thing is, they can shut up arrogant, over rated and annoying players.

Such an example would be the C's Last night against the cavs, they've been pestering LeBron the past 2 games of the series. Though I wouldn't exactly describe LBJ as arrogant and annoying (basically he's a class act, unlike that arenas guy...). But then again he's one of the best and because of that, the C's have to play the best. King James has now been 8-42 since the series had started. All of this cannot be credited for one person alone. Team defense did it for these guys.

If there's someone the C's are shutting up this time around, its their haters.

Now the series shifts to the quicken loans arena for game 3. This time, it will be a big test for the C's as they try to break the jinx and win the road and shut more haters as well.

RP Youth bags seaba crown!

Photobucket

The RP team has once again bulldozed its southeast asian competitors this time in the 18 and under division through the efforts of the Nokia Youth team. The massacre's details averaged around 42 ppg. The victory lessened the pain of the upset in the seaba champions cup. (Its a good thing that Dato Yeoh guy didnt do anything to destroy our lineup this time around).

Up next for the youth team is the asian championships. While not having any expectations, the nation is hoping for a respectable showing from these guys.

I just hope they get some decent showing this time around. 4 years ago, I remember having our physical education class being held on the same sports center as the RP youth team. Their coach looks upset the way they run plays and next I heard, the team got beaten badly by its asian counterparts. But then again, those were the bap days.
