Cosplay Photoshoot: Rider x Sentai x Metal Hero x Tokusatsu

What better way to cap of the year than do my Last (and First) cosplay shoot of the year. After months of talking, planning and scheduling, we were finally able to pull of an ambitous cosplay shoot. This was a welcome sigh of relief for me since 1. The genre really fits the location and 2. I'm a big toku fan myself.

Who says cosplay is just about big boobed attention seekers? who says all heroes should wear spandex and cape with underwear sticking out of their crotches?

I've recently tried a new method to shooting figures. This is long shutter speed and light painting, I know this is old news for some. But this is the first time I did it since accidentally shooting that Yuffie figure which did wonders.

Finally got a shoot, the first time in a long while. Held last May 1. It was a fun yet very tiring shoot.

Cannon 50mm f 1.18 get

Weeks Back I finally got my first Prime Lens, Yes it is the cheapest one. the 50mm f 1.18 by Cannon.






I was planning to buy this way back since I won cosplay and toy photog contests in the last toy convention. I wanted to improve and not be complacent. A Photographer friend of mine suggested that I invest on prime lenses and start on the 50mm f1.18. 3 days after the convention, I went to the states. As my brother bought a camera, he brought home a brochure. One of the more cheaper stores in the States, BnH. In there the lens sold for 89$ + Tax (around 4,500-5,000 php) which is cheaper since most stores there sell it for 180 US$. To not splurge my pocket money, I decided to buy it on our last day in NY. Unfortunately, It was a saturday and the store, being run by jewish, is closed.



Back in the Philippines, I searched on how much it cost here. A site showed that in a store makati, it costs 4,300 which was already Cheaper. Finally, A trip to Hidalgo finally openned my eyes and made me realize how much a blessing in disguise this was and got it for 4,000 php. (Before, I was a bit weary of the safety of the place. But after seeing it, it wasnt that dangerous.)

Hello Kitties

I was out for a 2 week vacation in the states, through walking in the streets of Times Square I stumbled in Quite a Sight



Its Hello Kitty!

This is one of the mascots in the Times Square area in new york. I dont think they're licensed ones but their costumes are detailed enough. They ask for a little donation if you pose for a pic with them. Other mascots include spongebob, mickey, minnie, elmo, dora and the cookie monster.

A few weeks ago we went to the zoobic safari advanture in subic bay, I managed to take some shots of the animals.




The First one is the Camel


The Goats and deers there freely come around the petting area.



This is one of the 3 stunt animals in the program. 2 poodles and one pig. This one had a wierd white eye. I think it is blind because of the scar on the face.
