Slam Dunk Collection

It has been more than a decade now after slam dunk has ended. 5 years after the last epilogue was shown. The series may have ended, dr t may have created more new basketball titles like vagabond and real than continuing the series. But the story remains is in a class of its own. If Boxing has Rocky, Hockey has the Mighty Ducks, Football has the Replacements and Karate has Daniel Larusso and Mr. Miyagi, then Basketball has Slam Dunk. The series has been so Iconic that most of the time the Japan National team plays abroad, the slam dunk's theme. (team pilipinas gets anak and noypi played overseas).

With that, Slamdunk merchandise and collectibles are hard to come by, most of them even bootleg stuff. Collecting memorabillia from this series is tough.

While it is hard to get an authentic slam dunk jersey made by banpresto/bandai. I got to grab a hold of customized jerseys thanks to Jerseyhaven, distributors of jerseys of the most popular amateur and commercial leagues in the Philippines.



I got a shohoku Sakuragi Hanamichi in Iconic Red and Black Away. It really matches the Black/red AJ1 retro From the Jordan defining moments 63 points package, which also played a very important part in the story.



and Kitcho Fukuda jersey, white is a better color for ryonan since they only wore their blue jerseys once in the story (and another in the opening)


Its been 4 years since summit media, re-released the slam dunk manga made by chuang yi. Last year I was lucky enough to get the back issues at 35 php a pop. Too bad I could not find 3 of the 31 issues (the summit version)



The last is a customized mcfarlane sakuragi hanamichi, yes, I'm still new to this customizing an NBA mcfarlane figure so please bear with it, but I figured out that I want a large scale figure of the guy. The base figure is Juwan Howard.

Overall, this goes to show that even when a series has ended a long time now doesnt mean its the end in collecting.

Air Jordan DMP Pack 60+ Bulls vs. Celtics Get

I finally acquired my DMP AJ 60+



I was one of the lucky ones to acquire the final pieces of the Air Jordan DMP Pack, it was one of those days where a high demand yet regular release Item was released. Though there were no needs for camp outs in taguig like the other limited edition shoes, I passed on the first time I saw this when my GF asked me if she’d get the set (To be paid by me later) since I had a contact to split the set with another sneakerhead (Just the Celtics colorway). But when the seller back out, I had no choice but to scout the other areas if the shoe was indeed still on sale. I was lucky to get the set in Nike trinoma, however, I had to wait till afternoon to get it because to know if the guy who reserved it would back out.





The DMP series exemplifies His Airness’ Greatest 60+ Point Games. What better way to start the series than to do one of his record breaking Scoring games, the 63 point performance on the first round of the 1986 playoffs against the Celtics. The bulls, only carrying the eight seed because of MJ’s injury costing him being on the bench for most of the season. Being on the 8th seed, they were faced to task team green on the first round.



Though the Celtics Prevailed 135-131 en route to their 16th championship and the last one until the KG-Truth-Shuttlesworth era, the Game provided a monumental era in NBA history as this was the highest single person scoring output in a playoff game.



The Pack Contains the air Jordan 1 in 2 colorways, Celtic Green and Bulls Red. Both of the colors are monumental.



The red Being the epitome of Air Jordan, banned in the NBA because of Extreme colorways. However, that extreme colorway led the way for a monumental shoe, being adored generations after and causing empty wallets in sneaker heads everywhere.



The Green colorway is fresh, and is a must have for a Celtics fan (Like me). It would also be noted that one of the big 3 (or 4) is a part of team Jordan, Ray Allen.


The shoe has a tag inside the tounge to comemorate the date MJ scored 63 points and the date whn it happened.



The Box is well done as well, commemorating the legendary Celtic's Parquet Floor. Nowadays with all the ugly monochrome hardwood being the trend in NBA Flooring (T-Wolves, Suns, Pacers etc..) Nothing beats the original and the classic parquet floor.



Another Feature of the shoe is its interchangeable laces. The red colorway has an option to make the laces either black or red. The Celtics colorway has the option to use black or green laces (although I saw from an online forum that it should have included a pair of white laces).

Air Jordan 60+ series Bulls Vs Celtics 2 Pack

While I am Really Doubtful of the Nike's Love for anything related to the Celtics. (With the truth's shoe still a kid's exclusive and Ray-ray stuck as a Jordan brand player exclusive). Nike releases the first of its Air Jordan 60+ Series, honoring Jordan's 60 Point Games. The first one shows his 63 point performance in the 1st round against boston. Though I thought that was his second seaspn so he should be wearing AJ2s. The set comes with the Blk/Red AJ1 and a "Celtics Parquet Floor Box"



The Red Blk is Perfect for AJ1 Jerseys and Even Sakuragi Hanamichi Jerseys. The Celtics Colorway will work for ray allen jerseys since he is a part of team jordan. Reports say the whole set will cost 200$ for this.

However, If Nike Phils is willing to shell this out in the RP market, I'm more than willing to camp out for this one. But since it is gonna be a general release, It would be probably easier to cop.  Which makes me excited. If Ever I'm going to buy a 200$ shoe in my life, this is probably going to be it. But then again this is a 2-pack
